Chris Chalmers & Lonesome Pete
Chris Chalmers, formerly of Belfast blues-rock band The 2:19, makes his solo debut at the BT Blues & Rock Club on Sunday 4 October, joined by guitarist, singer and songwriter Lonesome Pete.
Chris has been playing a run of solo shows recently, including several sold-out dates, and has also shared the stage with Liam Ó Maonlaí and Peter O'Toole of the Hothouse Flowers. He arrives at BT Blues & Rock Club following the release of Way Back Home, his debut album with The Souvenirs, which reached number 8 in the IBBA Album Chart and has been getting airplay from blues radio stations around the world.
Joining him is Lonesome Pete, the Whitehead-based one-man blues act known for his raw, foot-stomping performances. Often described as Northern Ireland's answer to Seasick Steve, Pete mixes blues standards with his own songs, using guitars, handcrafted instruments and a foot drum to create a big sound from the stage.
It should make for a great afternoon of live blues, with two very different takes on the music from two Northern Irish performers.
