Chris Chalmers Blues Rock / Americana, Belfast

Chris Chalmers is a Belfast-based singer, songwriter and guitarist, and a familiar name around the Irish and UK blues scene. He’s probably best known as the frontman of The 2:19, but there’s quite a bit more to Chris than one band.

With The 2:19, Chris has released three albums, with Keep My Will Strong spending two months at number two in the IBBA charts. The band have also picked up several UK Blues Awards nominations along the way.

More recently, Chris has been working on a couple of different projects. Chris Chalmers & The Souvenirs sees him teaming up with childhood friend Marty Young. Their first album, Way Back Home, was released in 2026 and was recorded at Chris's family home in Belfast, on the very street where the two grew up. It's a more stripped-back, Americana and roots-influenced side of his music.

Then there's Chris Chalmers & The Charge, a new live band bringing things back up a few notches with a bigger rock and blues sound.

Chris also plays plenty of acoustic shows around Ireland, sometimes joined by pedal steel player Joel Harkin and blues guitarist Lonesome Pete. Across all of these different projects, there's still that same gritty voice, guitar playing and love of the blues running through it.
