Rob Strong is a legendary blues and soul singer from Derry, Northern Ireland, whose career spans more than six decades. Emerging from Ireland's vibrant showband scene in the 1960s, he became known for his powerful voice, energetic stage presence, and mastery on bass guitar.
Fronting acclaimed groups such as The Plattermen, The Rockets, and later The Rob Strong Band, he helped bring soul and blues to Irish audiences at a time when the genres were still emerging locally. His 1986 live album Hollywood Nights and countless live performances cemented his reputation as one of Ireland's finest vocalists - often hailed as "The Godfather of Irish Soul."
