Susan Tomelty Band (DTB Live Blues & Dancing) 12 March 2027, Arthur's Blues & Jazz Club, Dublin

Blues is made for listening, dancing and sharing, and that's exactly what Downtown Blues is about. Based in Dublin, this non-profit group has been introducing people to Blues dancing for over 13 years, with weekly classes, social dancing and workshops for all levels. But the music doesn't stop when the classes finish. Through its DTB Live events, Downtown Blues brings live Blues bands to the stage and gives everyone a chance to enjoy the music together.

This time, Susan Tomelty Band is taking over the stage. Susan Tomelty, one of the finest singers to come out of Northern Ireland, hails from a well known theatrical and musical family. Her passion is for great songs, Rhythm & Blues, Country Blues, Gospel Blues, Soul and Funk. In the past, she was the support for Van Morrison, and sang for Nelson Mandela in Glasgow.

Susan's influences are stellar (we just had to list them)! They include: Howlin' Wolf, B.B. King, Freddie King, Big Mama Thornton, Albert King, KoKo Taylor, Muddy Waters, John Mayall & his Bluesbreakers, Bonnie Riatt, Ruthie Foster, Bobby Bland, Red Peters, Aretha Franklin, Susan Tedeschi, Jon Cleary and many, many more... We can't wait to have her and the band play for our anniversary!

DTB Live takes place upstairs at Arthur's Blues & Jazz Club, where the front seating area is cleared to make room for a proper dance floor. There's plenty of space to enjoy the music, but don't be surprised if you find yourself joining the dancers before the night is over!

Expect a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, great live music and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the Blues.
