Canadian blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter Anthony Gomes comes to Limelight Belfast on Saturday 23 January 2027 as part of his upcoming dates in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Known for his powerful guitar playing and energetic live shows, Gomes brings together blues, blues rock and classic rock, with influences ranging from Muddy Waters and B.B. King to Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Eddie Van Halen. His sound combines the traditional feel of the Blues with a heavier, guitar-driven rock edge.
Born and raised in Toronto, Gomes picked up the guitar at the age of 14 and began developing his own style through a mix of blues and rock. His career took a major step forward when he caught the attention of B.B. King, who invited him to open several shows on tour in 2005. Since then, Gomes has shared stages with artists including Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Heart, Sammy Hagar and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
His 2022 album High Voltage Blues reached No. 1 on the Billboard Blues chart and remained there for 58 consecutive weeks. His latest album, Praise the Loud, continues his blues rock sound across 12 original tracks, combining heavier rock with a deeper, soulful blues feel.
With years of international touring behind him, Anthony Gomes brings his high-energy blend of modern blues and rock to Belfast for a live show at Limelight. The Belfast date follows his performance at The Academy in Dublin on Friday 22 January.
