Gerry Quigley & The Mystic Blues Band bring together Blues, Blues Rock, progressive rock and Celtic influences to create a sound that is difficult to put into a box. Led by Dublin guitar wizard Gerry Quigley, the band perform Gerry’s own Blues and Blues Rock originals alongside their own distinctive takes on classic Blues songs.

Their music has been described as Blues-inspired dreamy progressive rock with a mystical, Celtic edge. At times atmospheric and hypnotic, at others powerful and guitar-driven, their live performances create an eclectic musical soundscape that moves between Blues, Rock and Celtic roots, with plenty of room for improvisation and unexpected turns.

After spending 30 years in Australia, Gerry returned home to Ireland and is now based in Cork City. His decades of experience and distinctive approach to guitar are at the heart of the band’s sound, with a collection of instruments that includes a Gibson Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster, Dobro slide, 12-string acoustic, Gibson ES-135 and mandolin. He also brings some rather unusual sounds to the stage with his one-of-a-kind double-neck mandola/bouzouki, affectionately named Shaun and Sheila.

Gerry is joined by Frank “Muddy” McNally on bass and vocals, Sharon Quigley “Rockin’ Rev” on keys, and Jimmy “Seamus” Howlett on drums. Together they create a full, dynamic sound that combines powerful rhythm sections, keyboards and an ever-changing collection of guitars and stringed instruments.

The band’s influences reach across generations of guitar-driven Blues and Rock, from Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, Paul Kossoff and Peter Green to Jimi Hendrix and Roy Buchanan. Those influences can be heard throughout their music, but the result is very much their own: a blend of Blues, Blues Rock, progressive rock and Celtic-inspired sounds with a distinctive mystical character.
